Ten Steps Towards Finding and Experiencing Your Vocational Passion!
By Craig Nathanson, Author of P is for Perfect: Your Perfect Vocational Day

  1. Define a purpose for your life. Without your own purpose, you become easy prey for what others want.
  2. Figure out what you prize most in your life.  More importantly, decide how you know when you are following what you prize most and when you are not.
  3. Know what is your perspective of yourself. It's too easy  to listen to what others think of you.
  4. Realize what is possible for you in your vocational life? So many of us focus instead on what's impossible.
  5. Figure out  your place in the world. So many of us take on roles which are not right for us.
  6. Get a fix on your attitude. What position do you take as you face each day?  Your position can move you either toward or away from what you want in your vocational life.
  7. Know what you are passionate about? Which activities give you energy, fulfillment and a sense of meaning in your life?
  8. Learn to  describe and visualize your perfect vocational day? Like the great athletes, if you can visualize it, you can achieve it.
  9. Realize what are you doing in the present to close the gap between where you are and what you want in your vocational life? Sometimes success is just the difference between thinking about taking action and actually doing something.
  10. Allocate your day to actually living your vocational passion. Most of us decide to wait until we retire to start doing what we love; and then life suddenly gets in the way. Don't wait. Do it now.
