Welcome from
Craig Nathanson
Hello,
I'm
Craig Nathanson and I am so glad you stopped by to visit thevocationalcoach.com.
I spent 25 years in corporate America, 11 years in
doctoral research and along the way faced my fair share
of personal crisis's and challenges, which came with
both mid-life and vocational change.
I want you to know that I believe that your middle
years and beyond can be the best one's yet- It's up
to you now to re-assess where your work life is at?
Do you feel full of energy and fulfillment about what
you do? Is Monday your best day of the week?
I have found that much of society expects those at
mid-life to slow down, retire or wait for death. Many
organizations ignore the developmental needs of those
in mid-life, continuing to focus on productivity, pay
and efficiency. In mid-life, those things take second
fiddle to meaning and fulfillment, something you'll
never find at the top of the list for these organizations.
You are ready to live not retire or die in mid-life.
Contrary to popular belief, you are ready and willing
to learn more, experience more and do more of what's
important to you.
Don't be afraid to admit what you want and to more towards
it. I did it and I know you can do it too. It's not easy and
it's hard work. I know mid-life can be a really challenging
time. Family, relationship, career and finances all compete
for attention.
You'll encounter negative feedback from others, lack
of support and challenges along the way. With focus,
passion and a commitment to gain more of what you want
in your vocational life, you can achieve this. Forget
the myths of society on mid-life.
You can change this myth for yourself. You can take
charge of the second half of your life now.
First, you must imagine and think through what would
a perfect vocational day be for you?
In my research I have discovered that many people just
like you are better able to deal with life's challenges
once they discover and actually follow what is important
to them.
It's not easy but it's a journey well worth it.
My aim with thevocationalcoach.com is to provide you
on-going tools, research, ideas, support and stories
of other people just like you who faced and overcame
these challenges.
I'll be here for you cheering you on from the sidelines,
Regards
