From overweight and tired to helping others as an author and private coach!
After 18 weeks on her latest diet (one of a long list of over 40 failed attempts to lose weight), Jennifer Clare finally gave up the struggle. The white-knuckle, willpower-driven “eat less and exercise more” diet had left her thoroughly discouraged and heavier than ever.
That was the start of www.stopweighting.com. Through introspection, research and hours spent talking with other overweight people, Jennifer decided to dispel the myth that diet and exercise alone is all that is needed to help people lose weight. (After all, if that worked, there wouldn't be a multi-billion dollar weight loss industry. People would go on one diet, lose the weight and then it would not be an issue any more! Instead, 95% of people who go on a restrictive diet gain back all the weight—and more—within two years.)
Taking tools from coaching and NLP, Jennifer designed a program which helps people get to the root of the REAL reasons for being overweight. She helps them with positive strategies to get in touch with their natural hungers, and to combat emotional eating. She also helps them address what they are REALLY hungry for in life, and to stop letting their bodies get in the way of having what they desire. Jennifer helps others gain a new PERSPECTIVE of themselves.
The truth is that people come in all shapes and sizes. Some people are genetically predetermined to be heavier or lighter than others. And some people have damaged their metabolisms by repeated restrictive dieting. (Every time you eat less than your body needs, it creates more and larger fat cells to more efficiently store fuel. Diets actually make you bigger!)
Your size is not a good enough reason to stop doing, being, or having what you want in life. No matter how large or small you are, you can live a healthy and happy life. Being fat doesn’t stop you from being fit—and being thin isn’t a guarantee for longevity and health.
Jennifer is the author of the No Sweat Guide To Fitness, an e-book about how to get fitter when you are too bored, too unmotivated and too busy to exercise. She sees clients in her practice in Melbourne, Australia, and does phone work with clients all over the world.
Isn’t it time to get that weight off your mind?
What can we learn from Jennifer?
Personal change only happens when we make a decision and take action. Doing the work we love usually results from a set of experiences where great learning takes place.
Jennifer’s story is an inspiration for all of us!
